Gear and services worth knowing about.
Charging, insurance, diagnostics, and cabin protection — starting points you can verify yourself. Where we can make a warm intro (installers, insurers), we’ll say so.
Home charging
Tesla Wall Connector
Official Level 2 option for many homes. Confirm amperage, panel capacity, and installer requirements for your address.
Third-party Level 2 (NACS / J1772)
ChargePoint, Grizzl-E, Emporia, and others. Match connector standard to your car year and adapter needs.
Level 2 install (local electrician)
Permit + panel load calculation matter more than the shiny charger. Ask for EVSE experience and load calc in writing.
Insurance
Compare EV-aware quotes
Tesla repair costs and parts availability vary by carrier. Get multiple quotes with the same coverage limits before you buy the car.
Diagnostics & tools
OBD / diagnostic dongles
Useful for curious owners and some PPI shops. Do not rely on a consumer dongle as a full battery health certificate.
Protection & cabin
Car covers
Floor mats
Guides
How to check used Tesla battery health before buying
Warranty left, Tesla’s Battery Health Test, rated range, charging clues, PPI timing, and a scannable checklist.
Warm intros (when we can help)
Generic AI can’t book your electrician or PPI slot. When we have a trusted local contact (SoCal installers, EV-aware shops, insurance brokers), ask:
No guarantee of availability. We’ll say no rather than invent a referral. Commissions/referral fees, if any, will be disclosed in the reply.
